Pay bills immediately, or automatically.
One good habit is to pay bills as soon as they come in. Also, as much as possible, try to get your bills to be paid through automatic deduction. For those that can’t, use your bank’s online check system to make regular automatic payments. This way, all of your regular expenses in your budget are taken care of.
Paying bills automatically or at the same time every month reassures your pocketbook that you are staying financially responsible. It takes worry and stress away when your money responsibilities are looked after.
Have a place in your home where you keep incoming bills.
Always throw as much paper garbage from the mail away as soon as possible.
Create a specific time to 'go through' your daily mail.
Take a few minutes each day to filter.
Set aside a certain time either once or twice a month to actually sit down and pay your bills.
Set up as many bills as you can on automatic withdrawal.
Stay organized. It is way easier to keep ahead than to get there!
